Communication and Engagement

Website Development

The Child Welfare Research and Training Alliance offers website development tailored to the needs of professionals and other stakeholders. These online platforms can serve as a centralized hub for accessing training, information, resources and services through information dissemination, online tools, and educational materials. The Child Welfare Research and Training Alliance places a high value on communication and engagement, and to support these efforts, we create 508-compliant websites. These accessible websites ensure that all users, including those with disabilities, can access and interact with our resources, fostering inclusivity. This commitment to accessibility reflects our dedication to open communication and active engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Youth and Family Focus Groups

The Child Welfare Research and Training Alliance utilizes youth and family focus groups to gather valuable insights that inform our research and guide its practical applications. Our team is skilled at conducting focus groups and engaging directly with young people and families. Through this engagement, we gain a deeper understanding of their experiences, needs, and perspectives within the context of the systems that support them. Focus groups allow us to collect firsthand feedback and ideas that can be applied to improve practices, ensuring that our work is both relevant and impactful for those we aim to serve. They can also be used to employ a participatory research process in which youth and their families are asked for feedback on research protocols and findings.

Information Dissemination

The Child Welfare Research and Training Alliance understands the importance of sharing information and knowledge gained through all of our activities to translate research to practice and effectively contribute to positive systems changes. Our focus is to provide useful information to policy makers, practitioners, and other system change makers. The CWRTA team utilizes several methods to communicate research findings and insights. Our research has been translated to policy briefs, conference and symposium workshops and posters, live and recorded webinars, training materials, peer reviewed publications, and other resources.
