The Child Welfare Research and Training Alliance builds capacity in child welfare by providing targeted curriculum development, training, and technical assistance to enhance the skills and resources needed for effective service delivery. Our subject matter experts focus on a wide range of topics, including best practices, new policies, cultural humility, and specialized skills such as trauma-informed care.
Our technical assistance includes offering trainings and webinars as well as tailored, individualized TA to enhance the skills and knowledge of child welfare professionals and caregivers in areas such as case management, trauma-informed care, and child development. We also provide expert advice and guidance on specific challenges or issues faced by child welfare agencies, such as implementing evidence-based practices, improving organizational culture, or addressing systemic barriers. In addition, we assist in the development of tools, guidelines, and resources to support child welfare professionals.
Our comprehensive approach creates a foundation for continuous learning, allowing child welfare and behavioral health systems to adapt to evolving needs and deliver more effective, equitable, and sustainable services to their communities.
The Child Welfare Research and Training Alliance views partnership building as a critical component for a robust system of care. We have a history of collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders, including other service providers, government agencies, nonprofits, community organizations, businesses, and educational institutions. Through these partnerships, agencies can pool resources, share expertise, and work toward common goals.
Effective partnership building requires clear communication, shared objectives, and mutual trust. By building strong alliances, service systems and communities can better coordinate efforts, avoid duplication, and create integrated strategies to tackle complex social issues. Ultimately, this collaborative approach enhances service delivery, increases capacity, and creates a more supportive environment for individuals and families. By leveraging the strengths of various partners, service systems and local communities can achieve a greater impact and sustainability.
The Child Welfare Research and Training Alliance offers grant writing training to strengthen the skills of professionals who serve children and families in proposal development, budgeting, and grant management. Our programs include workshops, online courses, mentoring, and other capacity-building resources. This training helps child welfare and behavioral health agencies and nonprofits create stronger grant proposals that align with funders' priorities and meet compliance requirements. Our team has experience with federal, state, and local grant funding, and can assist with navigating the grant application process to significantly increase your organization’s chances of securing funding.
We also promote grant writing partnerships, encouraging interagency collaboration between child and family serving agencies, nonprofits, academic institutions, community organizations, behavioral health providers and school systems. By pooling resources and sharing expertise, these partnerships make grant proposals more compelling and increase access to funding, especially for smaller or less-resourced organizations.
